You remember that scene in Young Frankenstein ?
You know…
The one where, just before going into the cell where the monster is, Dr. Frankenstein (“It’s Frankensteen; not stine“) tells Igor (“that Eye-gore, not Eee=gore”), Inga and Frau Blucher,
“”Love is the only thing that can save this poor creature and I am going to convince him that he is loved even at the cost of my own life.”

No matter what you hear in there, no matter how cruelly I beg you, no matter how terribly I may scream,
DO NOT OPEN THIS DOOR”

Well…?
Tomorrow is the big day. Ten o’clock.
Cathy and I are off to Redwood City this afternoon. The plan is to check into the fully renovated Courtyard by Marriott, maybe have a light early bird “last supper” at their Bistro Cafe, don my nifty Tai Chi culottes and slippers, slip into the “complimentary fitness center”, have Cathy post guard at the door, set the timer on a treadmill to 12 hours and ride out…i mean walk out… a night without meds.

“Let me out. Let me out. GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE!”

“WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH YOU PEOPLE? I WAS JOKING! DON’T YOU KNOW A JOKE WHEN YOU HEAR ONE?”

Poor Cath. I know this is harder for her than it is for me. I can walk. She has to pace.
You know it’s bad when the idea that someone will screw a white-wall size tire rim to your head while you, in a panic, try to remember the 4-7-8 breathing technique to avoid panicking, and then drill a hole in your head…
Well, when that seems a welcome relief…
Ten o’clock tomorrow, Rob.
Just one more day. You can do this.
Why?
Because this monster knows he is loved.
Thank you all. Family, friends, kind strangers…

Thank you all for your kind wishes, prayers, good vibrations, and white light. This monster knows how lucky he is.
See you on the flip side.
